Dubai's Climate

If you're visiting Dubai for the first time then you may be taken aback by the climate, particularly if you visit during the summer months. Dubai is incredibly hot and in during the height of summer the temperature can sometimes reach highs of over 40°! Obviously, you're not used to the hot weather then you might find this extremely uncomfortable.

If order to help you deal with the scorching heat it's vital that you take a few essential items with you on your visit! First of all, sunglasses are an absolute must! The strong sun can damage your eyes and the sun in Dubai is extremely strong, so make sure you bring a pair of good quality sunglasses with adequate UV protection! Also, sun screen is vital, even a short time in the mid day sun could see you ending up with sun burn, so don't forget to pack some high factor sun cream too along with your sunglasses. Appropriate clothes are a must too, you won't need a jumper or jacket!

You'll find that most buildings in the city are equipped with air conditioning units to try and keep the temperature down. Staying indoors when the sun is strongest at midday is advisable, especially for people who aren't use to such a climate. At night it cools down a great deal, but will still be warm enough for you to walk around without a jacket. If you dislike extremely hot weather, as most visitors to Dubai who aren't used to such a climate are, then it's best to avoid the sun in the day time.
